ROS® Unveils Updated Franchise Recruitment Manual with FranMan, Integrating Modern Tools and Analytics

Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a resource designed to align with the practices of today’s top-performing franchise recruitment teams. The manual, developed in collaboration with FranMan, a specialist in professional operating manuals, aims to merge proven recruitment principles with the latest tools and best practices. This marks the first significant update to the manual since 2021.

Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized that while the core fundamentals of franchise recruitment remain unchanged, the available tools and technology have evolved. “What has changed are the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters. Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated,” Coley stated. He added that the goal is to make an already powerful resource more relevant to how champion recruiters operate today.

The updated manual serves as a framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining recruiter roles and responsibilities and guiding candidates through ROS®'s proprietary 8-Step recruitment process. However, the recruitment landscape has changed significantly since the last update, with recruiters now having access to expanded datasets, AI-driven technologies, and sophisticated candidate intelligence. The new edition combines timeless principles with modern tools to help recruiters perform at the highest level.

Key updates in the manual include recruitment analytics, which teaches recruiters to use data to understand their pipelines and improve decision-making; artificial intelligence, which provides practical best practices for responsible AI use; and recruiter behaviors and performance, which expands beyond scripts to address daily, weekly, and monthly behaviors of high-performing recruiters. The manual also covers different types of franchise buyers, such as multi-unit and institutional candidates, and strengthens guidance on candidate funding while focusing on timeless best practices.

Additional updates address FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) and recruitment process best practices, offering deeper insights to help recruiters guide candidates through critical stages. The manual also explores modern learning and content integration, connecting with other ROS® educational resources like ROS Academy™, video, and digital content to create a more integrated learning experience.

Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the significance of analytics in the updated manual. “Historically, we’ve been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn’t be limited to what you can access in an executive report - the information is far too valuable. We believe recruiters should have a crystal-clear understanding of their own numbers, including how they operate and where best to apply them,” he said. Coley noted that expanding guidance in analytics ties their importance directly to recruiter behaviors and execution, representing a significant step forward.

The ROS® Franchise Recruitment Manual is intended to advance recruiting industry standards by incorporating the latest developments in procedures, tools, and candidate behaviors. It offers franchise recruitment professionals a holistic approach to continuous improvement and outcomes, ensuring they are equipped to handle the evolving demands of the industry.
