Rubean AG, the Munich-based fintech company, announced today that its software point-of-sale (SoftPOS) app is now running on over 150,000 active terminals, nearly doubling the approximately 80,000 terminals reported in early July 2025. The company said the growth underscores its recently published revenue and earnings forecasts.
At the annual shareholders' meeting earlier this month, Rubean's Executive Board projected consolidated revenue for 2026 to reach between €5.0 million and €6.0 million, up from €3.71 million in the previous year. Recurring revenue is expected to more than double in 2026. Co-CEO Stephan Kuck emphasized that with continued growth in app usage, the company will reach monthly breakeven in 2027 and close the entire year with positive net income for the first time.
Rubean's technology replaces traditional card readers with a software app, allowing retailers, restaurants, delivery services, and other businesses to accept cashless and mobile payments without additional hardware. The company said it is already a market leader in Germany and Spain. The SoftPOS solution, PhonePOS, enables merchants to accept card payments directly on their smartphones and is the only solution supporting Germany's girocard (EC card).
