Schonbrun Seplow Harris Hoffman & Zeldes, LLP Welcomes Amy Johnsgard as New Partner, Expanding Personal Injury Practice

Schonbrun Seplow Harris Hoffman & Zeldes, LLP has announced the addition of Amy Johnsgard as the firm's newest partner. Johnsgard, who has a robust background in litigation and trials, is set to lead the firm's personal injury practice. This strategic move underscores the firm's dedication to achieving justice for clients who have been wronged or injured.

"Achieving justice for those who have been wronged or injured has always been my guiding principle," said Johnsgard. "Representing individuals with personal injury claims is particularly gratifying as I can facilitate my clients' physical and emotional healing while obtaining a financial recovery."

Johnsgard's expertise spans personal injury, human rights, consumer fraud, and product defects, areas where she has secured significant victories for her clients. Her approach to personal injury cases emphasizes direct, one-on-one interaction between the attorney and the client, a level of personal attention that is rare in the legal field.

"We don't shy away from big fights and have a team of extremely bright and passionate attorneys dedicated to making the world a better and more just place," added Johnsgard. "Our personal injury practice allows for direct, one-on-one time between the attorney and the client, rather than through a legal assistant or paralegal. This level of personal attention is rare and valuable."

A native of San Diego, Johnsgard's passion for law began before attending law school when she worked as a paralegal for a La Jolla attorney. She also dedicated hundreds of pro bono hours to the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, offering life-saving legal assistance to vulnerable community members.

Johnsgard graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2011, where she received several CALI awards for her academic achievements. During her time in law school, she served as an editor on the Journal of Climate and Energy Law and contributed to San Diego's Climate Action Plan. Her professional journey includes internships with the U.S. Attorney's Office Civil Division, the Department of Justice's Environmental Enforcement Section, and a judicial internship with the Honorable William V. Gallo. She earned her undergraduate degree from Pomona College in 1999.

Before joining Schonbrun Seplow Harris Hoffman & Zeldes, LLP, Johnsgard was an associate at Wood Smith Henning & Berman, LLP and later a partner at Coast Law Group, LLP.

"Amy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both litigation and personal injury. We are thrilled to welcome her to our uniquely powerful team and to expand our firm's personal injury practice," said Partner Helen Zeldes.

This appointment follows the firm's recent promotion of Joshua A. Fields and John Washington to partners, further strengthening its leadership team. Fields specializes in complex litigation and appellate law, while Washington is an expert in international human rights law.

Schonbrun Seplow Harris Hoffman & Zeldes, LLP is a nationally recognized law firm with over 30 years of experience in litigating complex cases in employment, consumer, civil rights, and human rights law.
