A recent survey conducted by Shincheonji Church of Jesus reveals that 57% of graduates from their Zion Christian Mission Center Bible course previously identified as having no religious affiliation. The survey, conducted from October 17-25 among 1,285 students who completed the year-long program, demonstrates the course's appeal extends beyond traditional religious audiences.
The findings come as Shincheonji Church prepares to graduate 59,192 theology students on November 2nd. Survey participants reported profound personal transformations, with many noting the program provided "an opportunity to reflect on my life and relationships" and helped "establish standards for life beyond religion." One respondent in their 20s commented, "I had previously tried to learn about God and the Bible through various church teachings in the Christian world, but I didn't see much intellectual growth. However, through the Mission Center, I came to truly understand the Bible."
The survey results show overwhelming positive outcomes, with 99% of respondents reporting beneficial changes. The most common response (50.7%) indicated "increased inner peace, stability, and emotional comfort." Nearly half of participants (46.7%) reported experiencing "spiritual growth and a deepening of faith," while 41.2% said they "developed a positive value system."
Additional benefits cited by graduates included gaining "forgiveness, love, and a spirit of tolerance" (38.3%), "improved interpersonal relationships" (25.8%), "better stress management and problem-solving ability" (20.4%), and "a new perspective on social life and work" (16.5%). The high satisfaction rate of 94.5% with instructors and program content, including 73.3% who were "very satisfied," underscores the program's effectiveness.
The 116th Zion Christian Mission Center graduation ceremony was held at the Cheongju Church in South Korea under the theme "Love, Blessings, and the Light That Shines Upon the World."
