SS Innovations Demonstrates Remote Robotic Surgery Across 7,500 Miles at International Conferences

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII), a developer of surgical robotic technologies, announced that its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system and SSi MantrAsana tele-surgeon console were used in successful telesurgeries during two international medical conferences in October 2026. The demonstrations underscore the growing feasibility of remote robotic surgery and its potential to bridge gaps in surgical expertise across geographies.

At the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) Annual Meeting in Barcelona, Spain, Chairman and CEO Dr. Sudhir Srivastava performed a robotic-assisted cardiac procedure remotely on a patient in Bengaluru, India, approximately 7,500 miles away. The procedure highlighted the SSi MantrAsana console's ability to enable real-time remote surgery through ultra-low latency connectivity, high-definition visualization, and precise instrument control. At the Society of Robotic Surgery India (SRS India) Conference in New Delhi, four surgeons completed four separate robotic-assisted telesurgeries involving kidney, colorectal, pediatric urological, and gynecological procedures. These demonstrations illustrate the system's versatility across multiple surgical specialties.

As of October 23, 2026, a total of 205 telesurgeries, including complex cardiac procedures, had been performed using the SSi Mantra system. This milestone suggests that remote robotic surgery is moving from experimental to practical application, with implications for patient care in underserved regions. The technology could allow expert surgeons to operate on patients in remote locations without travel, potentially reducing wait times and improving outcomes.

The SSi Mantra system is a modular, multi-arm robotic platform with advanced features such as 3 to 5 robotic arms, an open-faced ergonomic surgeon command center, a large 3D 4K monitor, and a touch panel monitor for patient-related information. It utilizes over 40 different types of robotic endo-surgical instruments to support various specialties, including cardiac surgery, and 5mm instruments for the pediatric population and ENT surgeries. The optional SSi MantrAsana tele-surgeon console is a portable, compact alternative to the standard surgeon command center, designed to provide equivalent control functionality while enabling enhanced portability, ergonomic flexibility, and telesurgery capability. The SSi Mantra has been clinically validated in India in more than 190 different types of surgical procedures.

SS Innovations, headquartered in India and a U.S. company, aims to make robotic surgery affordable and accessible to a larger segment of the global population.
