SS Innovations Demonstrates Robotic Telesurgery Across Continents at International Conferences

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII), a developer of surgical robotic technologies, announced that its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system and SSi MantrAsana tele-surgeon console were featured in successful telesurgeries during two international medical conferences in October 2026. The demonstrations underscore the growing viability of remote robotic surgery and its potential to bridge gaps in surgical expertise across geographies.

At the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) Annual Meeting in Barcelona, Spain, Chairman and CEO Dr. Sudhir Srivastava performed a robotic-assisted cardiac procedure remotely on a patient in Bengaluru, India, approximately 7,500 miles away. The procedure highlighted the SSi MantrAsana console’s ability to enable real-time remote surgery through ultra-low latency connectivity, high-definition visualization and precise instrument control. The console is a portable, compact alternative to the SSi Mantra’s standard surgeon command center, designed to provide equivalent control functionality while adding telesurgery capability.

Separately, at the Society of Robotic Surgery India (SRS India) Conference in New Delhi, four surgeons completed four separate robotic-assisted telesurgeries involving kidney, colorectal, pediatric urological and gynecological procedures. These demonstrations illustrated the system’s versatility across multiple surgical specialties and patient populations, including pediatric cases.

The significance of these events lies in their implications for global healthcare access. Telesurgery could allow expert surgeons to operate on patients in remote or underserved regions without travel, potentially reducing delays and improving outcomes. As of Oct. 23, 2026, a total of 205 telesurgeries, including complex cardiac procedures, had been performed using the SSi Mantra system, according to the company. This growing body of experience may help accelerate regulatory acceptance and clinical adoption of remote robotic surgery.

The SSi Mantra system is a modular, multi-arm robotic platform with advanced features such as 3 to 5 robotic arms, an open-faced ergonomic surgeon command center, a large 3D 4K monitor, a touch panel monitor for patient-related information display, a virtual real-time image of the robotic patient side arm carts, and the ability for superimposition of 3D models of diagnostic imaging. It utilizes over 40 different types of robotic endo-surgical instruments to support different specialties, including cardiac surgery, and 5mm instruments for the pediatric population and ENT surgeries. The system has been clinically validated in India in more than 190 different types of surgical procedures.

For investors and industry observers, the announcements position SS Innovations as a player in the rapidly evolving field of surgical robotics, where telesurgery represents a frontier with significant long-term potential. The company’s focus on affordability and accessibility could differentiate it in a market often dominated by high-cost systems.
