Stevens Creek Toyota is collecting new, unopened pet supplies throughout November to support Humane Society Silicon Valley and pets across the community. The initiative includes a special "Tacoma for Tails" celebration on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stevens Creek Toyota's location at 4202 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129.
This partnership addresses the growing need for pet support services during the holiday months, when many families struggle to provide adequate care for their animals. Donations collected throughout the month will help stock HSSV's shelter and community programs that provide food, supplies, and critical care to pets and the families who love them. The most-needed items include dry and canned dog or cat food, puppy and kitten formula, treats, toys, leashes, collars, harnesses, cat litter, grooming supplies, blankets, towels, and enrichment items.
"Community drives like 'Tacoma for Tails' have a direct, immediate impact on pets and the people who love them," said Nancy Willis, Vice President of Strategic Growth at Humane Society Silicon Valley. "Every bag of food, every leash, every toy helps us provide care, keep families together, and create a stronger, brighter future for animals across our region. We're grateful to Stevens Creek Toyota and everyone pitching in."
The November 22 event will feature donation drop-offs, opportunities to meet adoptable animals, and chances to connect with the dedicated teams supporting them. Media will be present to capture interviews, visuals, and moments of community generosity in action. Visual opportunities include trucks and donation bins filling with pet supplies, HSSV team members and dealership staff in event T-shirts collecting and organizing donations, and photo/video sessions with adoptable-ambassador animals and community donors.
Ray Khandan, General Manager of Stevens Creek Toyota, emphasized the personal significance of the partnership. "This partnership means a lot to us—not just as a business, but as members of this community. Pets bring so much joy and companionship into our lives, and we're honored to help ensure every animal gets the care and love they deserve."
In addition to physical donations, monetary gifts to support HSSV's lifesaving work and fire rebuild efforts are also welcome. Humane Society Silicon Valley has served the community since 1929, securing permanent, loving homes for more than 500,000 animals. The organization became the first to earn model shelter status according to guidelines set forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians in 2017. This community initiative demonstrates how local businesses can partner with established nonprofit organizations to address pressing needs during challenging economic times. The collaboration provides essential support for animal welfare while strengthening community bonds through shared commitment to pet welfare and family support services.
