The T.D. Jakes Foundation has announced Life Forum 2025, a free virtual financial education experience designed to address the growing financial pressures facing young adults. The initiative comes as 36 states now require personal finance courses for graduation, up from just 21 in 2020, yet many students still lack practical knowledge to manage debt, build wealth, or plan for their financial futures.
Scheduled to begin in September and culminate with a main event on October 4, 2025, Life Forum 2025 represents a critical intervention in financial literacy education. The program covers essential topics including budgeting, credit management, entrepreneurship, investing, and generational wealth building. Presented in partnership with Wells Fargo and Paul Quinn College, the event carries the theme "Leveraging Income for Financial Empowerment" and aligns with the Foundation's core pillar of Financial Inclusion.
Kelley Cornish, President and CEO of the T.D. Jakes Foundation, emphasized the program's significance, stating, "Financial literacy is about more than numbers, it is about access, confidence, and opportunity. Through Life Forum 2025, we are bringing together some of the most powerful voices in financial education to show young adults that they have the tools and the talent to take control of their futures and build lasting wealth."
The forum features prominent financial educators including Wallo267, who will join Chairman T.D. Jakes in exploring how culture and mindset shifts can transform financial struggles into opportunities. Milan Griffin, Executive Vice President of HomeFree-USA, will share strategies for building generational wealth through real estate, while New York Times bestselling author Tiffany "The Budgetnista" Aliche will demonstrate intentional budgeting techniques.
Additional speakers include Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, founders of Earn Your Leisure and InvestFest, who will teach attendees how to leverage online platforms for income generation. Teri Ijeoma of Trade and Travel will provide practical trading strategies, and Egypt Sherrod will instruct on asset acquisition, protection, and transfer. Participants can register for the free event at https://life.vfairs.com/.
Tozyea Reed, Vice President of Programming and Outcomes at the T.D. Jakes Foundation, explained the program's lasting impact, stating, "LIFE is more than a program. It is a chance to discover how every dollar you earn can become a tool for freedom. When people learn how to leverage their money, they do not just manage it. They multiply opportunities for themselves and their communities."
The forum's importance extends beyond immediate education, as all sessions will remain available on-demand after October 4 through the Foundation's website at https://tdjfoundation.org/. This ensures continuous access to culturally relevant financial guidance for young adults navigating student debt, side hustles, career transitions, and economic uncertainty.
This initiative addresses a critical need in financial education by providing tailored resources that acknowledge the unique challenges facing today's young adults. The program's virtual format and free accessibility remove traditional barriers to financial education, potentially impacting thousands of individuals who might otherwise lack access to professional financial guidance.
The timing of Life Forum 2025 coincides with increasing recognition of financial literacy's importance in educational systems nationwide. By offering practical, expert-led education that connects financial principles to real-world applications, the program represents a significant step toward closing the financial knowledge gap that persists despite growing curriculum requirements.
