The DePIN Association has officially been formed by ten pioneering organizations dedicated to advancing the decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) ecosystem. The founding members—Acurast, peaq, DePINHub, PowerLedger, U2U Network, Impossible Cloud Network, POKT Network, SafeJunction, IoTeX, and Geodnet—are at the forefront of innovation in their respective fields, contributing to a collective vision for a more connected, decentralized world.
The DePIN Association aims to foster innovation, set industry standards, and promote the development of decentralized physical infrastructure networks. These networks leverage blockchain technology to decentralize traditional infrastructure services, ensuring greater transparency, security, and efficiency.
The founding members bring diverse expertise to the table: Acurast enables developers with unstoppable compute through a decentralized and mobile-powered cloud, and peaq provides DePINs with a layer-1 blockchain tailored to their needs, including modular DePIN functions and DePIN-focused economics. DePINHub serves as a central hub for DePIN innovation, offering resources and networking opportunities.
PowerLedger promotes the democratization of energy through tracking, tracing, and trading energy in decentralized markets. U2U Network offers a modular layer-1 chain built on top of DAG and compatible with EVM, boasting 17,000 TPS and 350-ms finality using the Helios Consensus. The POKT Network functions as a universal RPC infra layer, enabling partners to connect applications with any open data source with remarkable scalability.
SafeJunction provides a trustless database for provable facts, IoTeX offers a modular infrastructure for DePIN projects, and Geodnet leverages blockchain technology for geospatial data and services. Impossible Cloud Network connects enterprise-grade hardware with cloud service providers, ensuring uncompromised performance through SLA oracles.
The association's vision and mission are centered around creating a robust DePIN ecosystem. This includes establishing industry standards and best practices, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing among members, advocating for policies that support decentralized infrastructure growth, and fostering an ecosystem that encourages innovation and sustainable development.
Future plans for the DePIN Association include focusing on standardization, research and development, education and outreach, and jointly organized events. These initiatives aim to ensure interoperability and security across DePIN projects, advance the technology and applications of decentralized infrastructure, and engage with stakeholders to raise awareness about the benefits and potential of DePIN.
The establishment of the DePIN Association marks a significant step towards transforming traditional infrastructure services through decentralization. As these organizations collaborate, the potential for a more secure, efficient, and transparent world becomes increasingly attainable.
