Student athletes across Georgia will have new opportunities to learn about sports nutrition through Milk's Got Game, a campaign by The Dairy Alliance that is returning to high school athletics for the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The initiative aims to educate athletes, coaches, and families about the benefits of fueling with real dairy, emphasizing milk's natural electrolytes for hydration, complete protein for muscle recovery, and essential nutrients for strong bones and sustained energy.
The Dairy Alliance is partnering with the Georgia High School Association to integrate the campaign directly into high school sports communities. Throughout the school year, the partnership will feature digital performance nutrition programming, championship materials, on-site activations, and other opportunities for student athletes to learn about fueling and recovery. This collaboration ensures that nutrition education reaches athletes at key moments in their athletic development.
At select state championship events, The Dairy Alliance will host on-site activations and provide chocolate milk to participating teams following competitions. This recovery-focused experience allows student athletes to refuel while experiencing the benefits of real dairy firsthand. Chocolate milk's combination of naturally occurring electrolytes and complete protein makes it an effective post-game recovery beverage, supporting hydration and muscle repair.
This year, The Dairy Alliance will also bring dairy farmers into championship celebrations. Local farmers will present chocolate milk to teams, strengthening the connection between farm families and the communities they serve. This effort highlights the nutritional value of the milk they produce and celebrates the role of real dairy in fueling student-athlete performance. By involving farmers directly, the campaign underscores the importance of local agriculture and its contribution to community health.
To kick off the high school athletic season, The Dairy Alliance encourages everyone to participate in a chocolate milk toast on September 27, National Chocolate Milk Day. This day offers athletes, families, and fans across Georgia a chance to enjoy chocolate milk and celebrate the goodness of real dairy. It serves as a simple reminder of chocolate milk's role as a familiar favorite with nutritional benefits, including complete protein and naturally occurring electrolytes, that support hydration and recovery for active lifestyles.
From the start of the season through championship celebrations, Milk's Got Game will continue to bring performance-focused dairy nutrition to high school athletics across Georgia. The campaign helps athletes make informed nutrition choices while celebrating the people and communities behind the game.
