tonies Launches Toniebox Lite, Expanding Its Audio Ecosystem with a Smaller, More Affordable Device

LUXEMBOURG — tonies SE, the global leader in interactive audio platforms for children, today announced the launch of Toniebox Lite, a smaller and lighter version of its popular audio device, priced at a more accessible point. The new device expands tonies’ growing ecosystem, offering families a second hardware option alongside the flagship Toniebox 2. Pre-orders begin today in North America via tonies.com and walmart.com, with in-store availability starting August 22. The UK, Australia, and New Zealand will see the device in fall 2026.

Toniebox Lite delivers the core listening experience that has made tonies a household name: screen-free, child-operated, and instantly intuitive. Compatible with all Tonies ever released, it provides access to a library of over 1,500 Tonies and more than 3,500 digital titles, encompassing beloved characters from Disney, Warner Bros., Mattel, and tonies’ own Originals. Parents can manage playback, set volume limits, and access digital content via the tonies app, maintaining control over their child’s experience.

The launch marks a strategic shift for tonies, which is evolving from a single-device company into a multi-experience ecosystem. “As parents increasingly seek mindful alternatives to passive screen time, we see a tremendous opportunity to champion the power of listening,” said Tobias Wann, CEO of tonies. “With Toniebox Lite, we open the door to that world for more families than ever.” The device complements the premium Toniebox 2, which includes advanced features like interactive Tonieplay gaming, a dynamic light ring, and bedtime routines such as sleep timers and sunrise alarms.

Ginny McCormick, CXO of tonies, emphasized the device’s portability: “Childhood rarely stands still. It unfolds across family vacations, visits with grandparents, and everyday adventures. Toniebox Lite’s simple, portable design allows families to bring the tonies experience wherever childhood happens.” The device is certified for children aged 1 and older and can be personalized with colorful covers that add cushioning for daily use.

The introduction of Toniebox Lite comes just a year after the Toniebox 2, reflecting tonies’ accelerated innovation cadence. The company reported group revenue of EUR 630 million in fiscal year 2025, a 31% year-over-year increase, and guides for revenue above EUR 760 million in 2026. With over 12.2 million Tonieboxes and 165 million Tonies sold worldwide, tonies continues to expand its global footprint across over 100 countries.

This launch matters because it lowers the barrier to entry for families seeking screen-free entertainment, addressing growing concerns about children’s screen time. By offering a more affordable and portable option, tonies can reach a broader audience, potentially increasing market share in North America and other key regions. For existing customers, Toniebox Lite provides a travel-friendly companion, while new families gain an accessible entry point into the tonies ecosystem. The move also signals tonies’ commitment to diversifying its hardware lineup, a strategy that could reshape the children’s audio market and set a precedent for competitors.
