Tonix Pharmaceuticals Expands TONMYA Coverage to 52 Million Commercial Lives

Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: TNXP) announced a coverage agreement with a second major group purchasing organization, effective June 1, 2026, expanding access to TONMYA for an additional 17 million U.S. commercial lives. This agreement brings total commercial coverage for the company’s fibromyalgia treatment to approximately 52 million lives, representing about 29% of the estimated 177 million commercially insured individuals in the United States.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for Tonix as it continues to broaden patient access to TONMYA, a non-opioid analgesic designed for daily bedtime administration and long-term use. The drug, which is the first new treatment for fibromyalgia in more than 15 years, was launched commercially following an earlier coverage agreement in May that provided access to approximately 35 million commercial lives. The new agreement adds another 17 million lives, effectively doubling the initial coverage reach.

Tonix also noted that TONMYA is now available through Medicaid programs covering approximately 75 million lives, while discussions with Medicare continue. This broader coverage could have significant implications for patients suffering from fibromyalgia, a chronic condition characterized by widespread pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbances. With approximately 52 million commercially insured lives now covered, a substantial portion of the U.S. patient population may have improved access to a non-opioid treatment option.

For the pharmaceutical industry, this expansion demonstrates the growing acceptance of TONMYA among payers and group purchasing organizations. The deal could set a precedent for future coverage agreements and may encourage other insurers to include the drug on their formularies. For investors, the increased coverage represents a potential catalyst for revenue growth, as broader access typically leads to higher prescription volumes. Tonix is a fully-integrated, commercial-stage biotechnology company focused on central nervous system (CNS) and immunology treatments in areas of high unmet medical need. Beyond TONMYA, the company’s CNS portfolio includes acute migraine products Zembrace SymTouch and Tosymra, as well as pipeline candidates such as TNX-2900 for Prader-Willi syndrome and TNX-4800 for Lyme disease prophylaxis.

The importance of this announcement lies in its potential to address the long-standing unmet need for effective fibromyalgia treatments. With TONMYA now covering 52 million commercial lives and additional Medicaid coverage, more patients may gain access to a therapy that offers a novel mechanism of action without the risks associated with opioids. As Tonix continues discussions with Medicare, further expansion could solidify TONMYA’s position in the market and provide relief to millions of patients nationwide.
