University Park's Nova Neighborhood Introduces Versatile Home Designs in Palm Desert

In Palm Desert, California, the Nova neighborhood in University Park has unveiled new home designs by Woodbridge Pacific Group (WPG), an award-winning developer. These new plans aim to cater to a diverse range of buyers attracted to the area's casual, indoor-outdoor lifestyle, which includes arts, dining, shopping, and recreation.

According to WPG President Todd Cunningham, the new plan variations are designed to meet the needs of various buyers. "Some of our shoppers want the lock-and-leave ease of a winter home, some want to be closer to their adult children, and others want a new, high-quality permanent residence," Cunningham said.

Priced from the high $600,000s, the new homes in Nova range from 2,328 to 2,751 square feet and offer 4 to 5 bedrooms and 3.5 to 4.5 bathrooms. Each home includes great rooms, covered outdoor living spaces, and two-car garages, with some plans featuring a den and a lounge. Additionally, buyers can choose from options like a downstairs bedroom with a full bath or a casita, and new ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) layouts are also available.

Nova's ADUs provide self-contained living quarters, complete with sleeping and living areas, a bathroom, wardrobe, washer/dryer space, and a compact kitchen. A separate entry enhances privacy. Cunningham noted that these ADUs could be particularly beneficial for buyers looking to share housing costs with retired parents.

The new designs also include airy lofts and multi-generational suites. "When Nova shoppers told us they wanted plan layouts with more versatility, we listened and responded," Cunningham added. "These fresh layout choices deliver that versatility."

Nova buyers Rose and Dan Arguin, who moved from San Diego, expressed their satisfaction with their new home. "It was the best decision we ever made," said Rose. "We wanted something fresh and attainable, in a place we could enjoy. Nova, University Park, and Palm Desert combined to make the perfect choice."

University Park also features other collections like Verve and Esprit. Verve offers four two-story plans with 2-car garages and 1,871 to 2,490 square feet of living space, ranging from 3 to 5 bedrooms and 2.5 to 4.5 bathrooms. Homes in this collection are priced from the high $500,000s. Esprit plans range from 1,992 to 2,925 square feet, with 3 to 5 bedrooms and 2 to 3.5 bathrooms, and are priced from the $700,000s.

Residents of University Park benefit from its prime location near the 10 Freeway and proximity to various amenities. This includes the Eisenhower Medical Center, quality schools in the Desert Sands Unified School District and Palm Springs Unified, and abundant retail and dining options. Recreational choices are also plentiful, with nearby hiking trails and destinations like the El Paseo Shopping District and Acrisure Arena.

The community's amenity center, The Grove, is set for a summer opening and will feature a resort pool, lap pool, kiddie pool, shaded playground, pickleball court, stage area, lawn areas, firepit, and BBQ area.

WPG's preferred lender, U.S. Bank's Jeff Weirsma, offers expert financing assistance, including reduced interest rates for qualified buyers. Rose Arguin praised the bank's support, stating, "They explained each step, told us what to do and what not to do, and all went as smooth as silk!"

Woodbridge Pacific Group encourages potential buyers to explore University Park and its offerings. "We have confidence in our quality and service and welcome shoppers' due diligence," Cunningham said.
