Valencia by FivePoint is set to enrich its community with the grand opening of a new certified farmers market on August 4. The market, located at the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Navigation Avenue, promises to bring a wide array of freshly harvested produce and ready-to-eat foods directly from local growers. The market will be held every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., providing a regular venue for both residents and visitors to shop for fresh, local foods.
Managed by California Farm Direct Markets, which also operates the Saturday Old Town Newhall and the Wednesday Canyon Country Farmers Markets, the new Valencia Farmers Market aims to expand local choices for fresh produce. Market Manager Larry McClements expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I'm delighted to get the Valencia market open, and to welcome new and regular customers! I'm thrilled to bring this new market to the Valencia by FivePoint community."
The location offers easy access and ample parking, making it convenient for shoppers. The market's address is 27426 Navigation Avenue, Valencia, CA 91381. According to McClements, the market will draw from Valencia's surrounding areas for its food products, ensuring that offerings are sold directly by the growers. "Our market is run by our Santa Clarita Valley-based team," McClements added.
McClements, a resident of Santa Clarita, has a long history with farmers markets. He began selling produce at the Newhall Farmers Market and took over its operations in 2019. The new Valencia market is certified by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and LA County Agriculture, guaranteeing that it meets stringent quality and safety standards.
The opening of the Valencia Farmers Market is part of a broader effort to enhance the lifestyle amenities within the Valencia by FivePoint community. The community already offers a picturesque setting with hillside views and a variety of leisure amenities. Residents like Paul Butler appreciate the ease of access to outdoor spaces, saying, "We work at home, and love that all you need to do for a great break is walk outside and take in the beautiful panorama of hills and sky."
Valencia's lifestyle also includes a strong sense of community, with gathering places such as Confluence Park and a calendar full of special events like "Friday Night Happenings," Earth Day, the Easter Egg Hunt, and Pumpkin Fest. Diane Diamond, another resident, highlighted the social benefits of living near the community garden, where her daughter is learning about plants and flowers.
Convenience is a hallmark of life in Valencia. Located in the heart of Los Angeles County's Santa Clarita Valley, it offers close proximity to retail, dining, and leisure options. The community is also near major job centers, educational institutions like Cal Arts and College of the Canyons, and healthcare facilities including Henry Mayo Hospital. Well-ranked schools in the William S. Hart District, Newhall School District, and Saugus School District add to the community's appeal.
Housing options in Valencia are diverse, ranging from detached and attached homes with sizes from 1,018 to 4,723 square feet.
