WagerWire, a sports gaming marketplace technology company, has made a significant advancement by launching the buying and selling of fantasy entries in its app, now available on iOS and Google Play stores. This new feature enables fantasy players to legally buy and sell daily fantasy Pick’em entries with just a tap, a first in the industry.
Users of WagerWire can now buy and sell RealTime Fantasy Sports (RTFS) entries through the app, with plans to include more fantasy operators in the future. The integration with RealTime Fantasy was announced in January 2024, allowing users to trade their Pick’em lineups while games are in progress. Notably, during the NFL playoffs, 12% of all DFS Pick’em lineups were sold on the secondary market, showcasing the feature's immediate impact.
WagerWire Co-Founder and CEO Zach Doctor emphasized the transformative nature of the launch, stating, “This launch represents a way to bring more ownership and control over their entries. For the first time, there is a way to cash in on your lineups even if they go on to lose - by selling it to a friend or on the open market. The excitement is palpable.”
This new fantasy marketplace is the latest addition to WagerWire’s growing technology portfolio under its parent company Wire Industries, Inc. The app already features various tools for both sports betting and fantasy, including stat tracking, account syncing, bet value graph builders, calculators, and social features that allow users to follow their friends, influencers, or sharps.
RealTime Fantasy Sports veteran user Braiden Payne shared his enthusiasm for the new feature, saying, “I’ve been playing fantasy for years, but being able to sell my DFS lineups is game-changing. I’m also loving being able to buy and sell in-game and see the progress of my picks with live price suggestions. The RT marketplace in the WagerWire app takes an already great and easy-to-use experience to the next level.”
WagerWire has been recognized for its innovative contributions to the industry, recently being shortlisted for SBC North America’s Rising Star of the Year and Affiliate of the Year awards, as well as EGR’s Rising Star of the Year and Hashtag Sport’s Best X Presence award.
Since its inception in 2021, WagerWire has made headlines with a high-profile seed round led by Miami Marlins co-owner Roger Ehrenberg, Eberg Capital, and NBA All-Star Richard Jefferson. The company is a licensed affiliate and media partner to top US sportsbooks, including BetMGM, BetRivers, Caesars, FanDuel, Hard Rock Bet, and SuperBook, among others. Their content has garnered over 250 million views in the past year and has been featured in major publications like the New York Post, USA Today, Bleacher Report, ESPN, Bloomberg, and CNBC.
WagerWire’s platform empowers fantasy players and bettors by enabling them to treat their fantasy lineups, contest entries, and sports bets as tradable assets. Their proprietary GLI-33 certified marketplace technology can be embedded directly into sportsbook apps, further extending its reach and usability. The WagerWire app acts as an aggregated marketplace for bets across partner sportsbooks, bolstered by engaging daily sports and betting content created “By Fans, For Fans.”
