Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 42K) announced certified laboratory assay results from its inaugural programs at the Rowland Tungsten Property and adjoining White Star Tungsten Project in Elko County, Nevada. The results, which include rock-chip assays up to 4.02% WO3 at Rowland and 3.00% WO3 at White Star, exceed twice the reported historical grades, marking a significant step toward advancing the company's tungsten portfolio in a critical minerals market.
Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated that the high-grade results demonstrate the system's potential and allow the company to build an integrated dataset for drill target generation. The company completed UAV magnetic geophysical surveys across both properties and is now integrating the assay data to move toward drilling.
The Rowland Tungsten Property, which hosts three zones of historical workings—Northern Zone A, Northern Zone B, and Rowland Main—returned multiple high-grade samples. At Rowland Main, 18 rock-chip and channel samples ranged from 0.01% to 4.02% WO3, with five samples exceeding 1.0% WO3, including 4.02%, 2.69%, 2.56%, 2.11%, and 1.25% WO3. Coincident critical metals such as molybdenum (up to 110.5 ppm), silver (up to 6.82 g/t), copper (up to 0.4%), and manganese (up to 2.57%) were also reported, consistent with a scheelite-bearing tungsten skarn system.
At Northern Zone B, three samples yielded 0.35% to 1.22% WO3, with elevated silver (up to 10.85 g/t), copper (up to 0.8%), and molybdenum (up to 119.5 ppm). Northern Zone A returned 0.23% WO3 with silver and molybdenum credits, confirming mineralization in the northernmost zone.
The White Star Tungsten Project, adjacent to Rowland, returned initial rock-chip samples including 3.00% WO3 and 711 ppm Mo from the Batholith Mine area. A second sample graded 0.13% WO3 from a rehabilitated open pit zone. These results align with historical production grades and extend known mineralization.
The importance of these results extends beyond the company. Tungsten is classified as a critical mineral by the U.S. government due to its use in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications. With global supply chains under pressure, domestic sources of tungsten are increasingly strategic. Western Star's properties in Nevada, a historic mining state, could help reduce reliance on foreign imports.
The company plans to integrate the rock-chip results with pending soil geochemistry and the completed geophysical surveys to generate drill targets across the consolidated Jarbidge-Charleston tungsten footprint. Further soil sampling is ongoing, and updates are expected as assays are received.
Samples were analyzed at ALS Global in Reno, Nevada, using ICP-MS and XRF methods, with strict QA/QC protocols including blanks, duplicates, and standards. The Qualified Person for the release is Jasper Mowatt, a consultant to the company.
