The World Police Summit Awards has announced its fourth edition, expanding its recognition of excellence in law enforcement to include two groundbreaking categories that highlight the increasing role of technology in modern policing. The new categories, Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in Policing and Startups Innovation Award, bring the total number of award categories to 12, underscoring the evolving landscape of global law enforcement.
The awards aim to celebrate professionals and organizations that are pushing the boundaries of traditional policing through innovative technological solutions. With a 55% increase in nominations compared to the previous year, the event demonstrates growing interest in recognizing transformative approaches to public safety and crime prevention.
Captain Marwan Abdullah Al Mulla, Head of the World Police Summit Awards, emphasized the importance of these new categories, noting that artificial intelligence and startup innovations are critical in assisting law enforcement officers both domestically and internationally. The additions reflect a strategic commitment to promoting technological progress in policing and building safer global communities.
The World Police Summit, scheduled from May 13 to 15, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will serve as the platform for these awards. The event brings together law enforcement professionals, government officials, security experts, and technology innovators to discuss contemporary challenges in policing and explore collaborative solutions.
Previous award recipients have represented a diverse range of countries, including Brazil, Italy, Spain, Canada, India, Qatar, Pakistan, and the UAE, highlighting the global nature of the recognition. The awards cover multiple domains of law enforcement excellence, from criminal investigation and forensic science to customer service and road safety.
The jury, comprising leading global academics specializing in policing and law enforcement sciences, will evaluate nominees through multiple rigorous stages. Only three candidates per category will advance to the final round, with one winner selected in each category, ensuring that only the most exceptional contributions are celebrated.
The expansion of award categories signals a significant shift in how law enforcement agencies are approaching modern challenges. By emphasizing artificial intelligence, startup innovation, and technological solutions, the World Police Summit Awards is promoting a forward-thinking approach to public safety that recognizes the critical role of technology in addressing complex global security issues.
