Wytec International Launches AI-Powered Gunshot Detection Pilot in Texas School Districts

Wytec International is preparing to launch an innovative pilot program aimed at enhancing school safety through advanced technological integration, focusing on AI-powered gunshot detection systems and secure wireless networks. The company will select one or more of the 1,203 Texas Independent School Districts (ISDs) to demonstrate its cutting-edge public safety solution.

The pilot program leverages the Federal Communications Commission's Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) to create a private, interference-free wireless network capable of detecting multiple gunshot threat types. This technology represents a significant advancement in addressing the growing concern of gun violence in educational environments.

Developed through strategic partnerships with Nextivity Inc. and Lemko Corporation, the integrated solution combines sophisticated wireless technologies with artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. The system draws from over 75 global patents related to smart sensors, wireless connectivity, and cloud management.

Wytec's approach is comprehensive, utilizing advanced AI/ML software embedded within smart sensor ecosystems. The technology is designed to provide real-time threat detection and communication, potentially revolutionizing emergency response protocols in schools and other public facilities.

The pilot program follows Wytec's recent multi-state government award through the TXShare Cooperative Purchasing Program, which will enable deployment across 170 US cities, 50 counties, and over 40 special districts. This expansive potential demonstrates the scalability and broad applicability of the technology.

Nextivity's contribution includes over 25 patents related to in-building cellular solutions, while Lemko Corporation provides a secure wireless backbone with extensive experience in private LTE network deployments. Together, these partnerships create a robust technological framework for advanced threat detection.
