Zoomex, a prominent player in the cryptocurrency exchange market since 2021, has announced the successful completion of a comprehensive security audit by the esteemed cybersecurity firm, Hacken. This evaluation highlights Zoomex's dedication to upholding the highest standards of security and transparency within the fast-paced digital asset trading sector.
The security assessment, titled the 'Pentest and Security Analysis Report for Zoomex,' was meticulously conducted by Faizan Nehal and received approval from Stephen Ajayi of Hacken. The audit involved extensive penetration testing and security analysis, aimed at evaluating the robustness of Zoomex's platform, including its web application and API endpoints.
Zoomex's reputation for cutting-edge blockchain technology has been further solidified through this audit, reinforcing its status as a secure and reliable platform for millions of users worldwide. The audit identified seven vulnerabilities, classified based on severity—critical, high, medium, and low.
Among the critical findings was an unauthorized fund transfer vulnerability (F-2024-4042), which has since been fixed. Other vulnerabilities included weaknesses in the Know Your Customer (KYC) process (F-2024-4028), access control issues (F-2024-4019), and multiple 2FA bypass vulnerabilities (F-2024-3998 and F-2024-4004). Issues such as vulnerable JavaScript dependencies (F-2024-4043) and nickname length verification bypass (F-2024-4009) were also identified and addressed accordingly.
Zoomex's immediate response to the audit findings demonstrates its proactive approach to security. Critical vulnerabilities, including unauthorized fund transfer and access control issues, were resolved promptly. The company has also accepted resolution plans for the high and medium-risk vulnerabilities, indicating ongoing efforts to enhance platform security.
The audit underscores Zoomex's commitment to transparency and accountability. By publicly sharing the audit results, Zoomex ensures that users and stakeholders are well-informed about the measures taken to protect their assets and personal information.
