Alcanza Clinical Research today announced the acquisition of CNS Healthcare, an independent clinical research network with a 30-year history of advancing medical science in neuroscience and behavioral health. The deal, disclosed on June 23, 2026, adds five locations across Memphis, TN, Jacksonville and Orlando, FL, along with a mobile clinical trial vehicle, to Alcanza's growing network.
CNS Healthcare, founded in 1996, has completed thousands of clinical trials and built a reputation for high-quality data and patient-centric care. Its experienced team of Principal Investigators and research professionals has consistently delivered strong trial performance under the leadership of CEO Dan Kearney. "We are truly excited to join the Alcanza team. Their commitment to inclusiveness in all that they do ties into how we, at CNS Healthcare, have operated for over 30 years," Kearney said.
Alcanza CEO Carlos Orantes emphasized the strategic value of the acquisition: "Working alongside high-performing clinical research organizations continues to be a key focus for Alcanza. We are pleased to welcome CNS Healthcare and its outstanding team to our growing site network." The integration enhances Alcanza's multispecialty therapeutic capabilities and aligns with its mission of "Clinical Research for All™."
The acquisition significantly broadens Alcanza's site access throughout diverse communities, particularly in the Southeast and Midwest. With over 30 locations now in the continental US and Puerto Rico, Alcanza supports studies across all trial phases and major therapeutic areas. The addition of CNS Healthcare's neuroscience expertise is expected to accelerate recruitment for trials in conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease.
Industry analysts note that the consolidation of independent research sites into larger networks like Alcanza can improve operational efficiency and patient diversity, addressing long-standing disparities in clinical trial participation. By expanding into underserved regions, the combined entity aims to bring life-changing treatments and vaccines to more patients, especially those from under-represented communities.
For global pharmaceutical sponsors, the expanded network offers a single point of contact for multisite trials, potentially reducing startup times and enhancing data quality. Alcanza's commitment to inclusive patient engagement, coupled with CNS Healthcare's track record, positions the organization to meet growing demand for real-world evidence and decentralized trial capabilities.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. CNS Healthcare will continue to operate under its existing brand as part of the Alcanza network, with Kearney and his team remaining in place to ensure continuity for ongoing trials and partnerships.
