The American Heart Association has announced the selection of eight companies to participate in its Heart and Brain Health Accelerator, a specialty track within the 2026 MedTech Innovator Accelerator. The program aims to advance novel medical and digital health technologies aligned with the Association's mission to improve cardiovascular and brain health outcomes.
The cohort includes Cerevia Neurosciences, developing a non-invasive neuromodulation platform for dementia; Chambertech, focusing on minimally invasive hybrid ablation for atrial fibrillation; Envera Medical, creating a neurovascular balloon catheter for safer embolization procedures; Eupnoos, with acoustic breath biomarkers for early detection of heart failure; Flux Robotics, advancing magnetically guided robotic systems for navigating complex arteries; Lucentia, offering software to turn routine CT scans into virtual coronary CT angiography; OMINI, with a portable point-of-care platform for monitoring biomarkers in chronic diseases like heart failure; and Prima Medical, providing real-time AI treatment guidance for pulsed field catheter ablation.
According to Lisa Suennen, managing partner of American Heart Association Ventures, the accelerator connects high-potential companies with expertise, resources, and networks to bring trustworthy and impactful products to patients and clinicians. The companies were selected by an advisory committee of clinical, investment, and industry experts based on innovation, clinical impact, and potential to improve patient care.
Participants will receive specialized mentorship and coaching from American Heart Association Ventures and access to networking opportunities, funding, and visibility through the MedTech Innovator program. They also qualify for the MedTech Innovator Competition Finals at the MedTech Conference in Boston from October 18-21, 2026, and are included in the inaugural MTI Index, a recognition platform for promising medtech companies.
This initiative is part of the American Heart Association's broader effort to drive innovation in heart and brain health. Through its venture capital arm, American Heart Association Ventures, and its venture studio, Studio Red, the Association aims to bridge the funding gap between research and real-world impact, translating evidence-based science into commercially viable products. The program addresses critical gaps in cardiovascular and neurological care, potentially expanding access to early detection and less invasive treatments for patients worldwide.
