Atlantis USD Surpasses 1 Million Users, Signaling Rapid Growth in Stablecoin Adoption

Atlantis USD (USDA), the lawful USD stablecoin designed for the Atlantis ecosystem, has reached a significant adoption milestone: over 1 million active users and holders from more than 170 countries as of August 20, 2026. This achievement, announced on August 21, 2026, comes just 15 months after its launch in May 2025, underscoring the stablecoin's rapid growth and expanding utility.

The milestone is accompanied by a circulating supply of 5 billion USDA, equivalent to $5 billion, reflecting strong market acceptance. USDA is now recognized as one of the fastest-growing stablecoins among emerging competitors, trailing only established front-runners like USDT and USDC. The project's long-term goal is to reach hundreds of millions of users by 2026 or Q2 2027, positioning USDA as a major player in the global digital payments landscape.

USDA serves as the official digital payment and settlement currency within the Atlantis ecosystem, which includes AtlantisChain, a super-ultra-fast Layer-ZERO blockchain, and Atlantis Exchange Pro. The stablecoin's increasing user base and circulation highlight growing participation in the ecosystem, where it facilitates decentralized trading, global payments, and AI-integrated applications.

What sets USDA apart from other stablecoins are its key features. Unlike many stablecoins that allow issuers to freeze, blacklist, or even move funds at their discretion, USDA is designed to function like fiat currency with no issuer function to ban, freeze, or blacklist any user or wallet address. This non-custodial approach ensures users retain full control over their assets, a critical factor for trust and regulatory compliance.

Furthermore, USDA addresses concerns about unlimited token supply. While fiat currencies and many stablecoins can be minted in unlimited amounts at the issuer's discretion, USDA is fully minted at inception with a fixed maximum supply (hard cap). The gradual release of tokens is based on verified market demand, ensuring stability and preventing arbitrary inflation.

The stablecoin is backed 1:1 by U.S. T-bills, USD stablecoins (USDT, USDC, USDB, and PYUSD), and selected cryptocurrencies, ensuring its value remains consistently equal to one U.S. dollar. This backing provides a secure and transparent foundation, adhering to strict regulatory standards as an ATC-20 token.

USDA's legal status is another notable advantage. Launched before the GENIUS Act was signed into law in July 2025, USDA enjoys grandfathered lawful status as a USD stablecoin under U.S. laws. This pre-existing compliance offers users a level of regulatory certainty that newer stablecoins may not have, potentially attracting institutional and retail users alike.

The achievement of 1 million users is not just a numerical milestone but a testament to USDA's growing credibility and utility. As the stablecoin market becomes increasingly competitive, USDA's focus on user autonomy, fixed supply, and legal clarity could position it as a preferred choice for global payments and digital economic activity. With its sights set on hundreds of millions of users, USDA is poised to make a significant impact on the future of stablecoin adoption.
