BRAIN Biotech AG announced today that Dr. Sven K. Weber will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on October 1, 2026, succeeding Adriaan Moelker, who will retire as scheduled at the end of his contract term. Moelker will remain as a senior advisor until January 2027. The leadership transition marks a strategic move to accelerate growth and strengthen the company's position in the specialty enzymes market.
Dr. Weber, 44, brings extensive experience from the BASF Group, where he most recently served as Vice President responsible for the global enzyme business (Global Business Unit Feed Enzymes & Feed Performance Ingredients). In that role, he drove innovation-led, profitable growth and significantly increased revenue and earnings. Prior to BASF, he held positions at Chemetall GmbH, hte GmbH, and Merck Group. He holds a diploma and doctorate in chemistry from the University of Heidelberg and completed an executive program at the SGMI Management Institute in St. Gallen.
