Brandon Herrera has been named the Texas State Chair for U.S. Term Limits, according to an announcement from the organization. Herrera, who has a background in both private and public service, has long been a proponent of term limits at the federal level. In his new role, he aims to ensure that Texas adopts a resolution supporting common-sense term limits.
"I am honored to serve as the Texas State Chair for U.S. Term Limits," said Herrera. "Now more than ever before, the need for term limits is crystal clear. Polls show that one issue that unites all Texans regardless of political affiliation is the need for congressional term limits."
Herrera emphasized that serving in Congress has often become a lifelong entitlement rather than a public service. "Term limits will help improve accountability, diversify Congress, and make government work better for all Americans," he added.
Philip Blumel, President of U.S. Term Limits, expressed confidence in Herrera's leadership. "We are honored to have Brandon leading our efforts in Texas to pass term limits for Congress. Under his guidance, I am confident we will get our term limits resolution passed in Texas," Blumel stated.
Herrera is an entrepreneur, Second Amendment activist, and social media personality. He previously ran as a Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in House District 23 in Texas. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Herrera's parents were from military families. He attended Campbell University focusing on Pre-Law before pivoting to start a small business in firearm manufacturing.
With a lifelong passion for firearms, Herrera has built a successful business and a large social media following, accumulating over half a billion views by using entertainment to promote firearm safety and Second Amendment advocacy. His frustration over government overreach during the COVID lockdowns of 2020 led him to return to Texas, where he relocated his businesses and employees.
Herrera collaborates with various pro-freedom groups including the National Association for Gun Rights, the Firearm Policy Coalition, Gun Owners of America, and Young Americans for Liberty. He is a strong constitutionalist, believing that one of the keys to individual liberty is limiting federal power and returning authority to the states.
U.S. Term Limits, the largest grassroots term limits advocacy group in the country, aims to connect term limits supporters with their legislators to pass term limits at all levels of government, particularly in U.S. Congress. Herrera's appointment as Texas State Chair could significantly influence the push for term limits in the state, promoting greater accountability and a more diverse Congress.
