The nonprofit Community Investment Organization CAHEC has appointed Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than 40 years of experience in affordable housing finance and investment to the organization, which focuses on building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This appointment is significant as it bolsters the strategic leadership of an organization actively engaged in critical community development tools like low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits.
Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a career dedicated to expanding affordable housing access nationwide. Her most recent role was as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's national strategy. Prior to that, she spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021, playing a key role in directing capital to communities with critical housing needs. In 2024, she co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm providing financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits and housing authorities. Her continued involvement through consulting and extensive nonprofit board service, including with the Light House Shelter and the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, demonstrates an ongoing commitment to addressing housing instability.
