The Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS) is set to expand its brain injury treatment services with a new clinic in Plano, Texas, addressing a significant healthcare need in the region. The approximately 20,000 square foot facility, located at 1649 Dallas Parkway, will open to patients in winter 2025-2026, marking the organization's fifth location in Texas.
With the North Dallas area experiencing substantial population growth, the new clinic aims to meet increasing demand for specialized post-acute brain injury care. According to Texas Brain Injury Alliance statistics, 144,000 Texans sustain a traumatic brain injury annually, with one occurring every four minutes. More than 381,000 Texans currently live with a disability resulting from such injuries.
The Plano clinic will offer comprehensive rehabilitation services, including advanced therapeutic programs targeting vision, neurobehavior, cognitive retraining, speech, physical, and occupational therapy. Specialized technologies like the ZeroG® Gait and Balance System and Bioness Integrated Therapy System will support patient recovery, demonstrating CNS's commitment to cutting-edge treatment approaches.
CNS CEO David Harrington emphasized the strategic importance of expanding services in this region, noting the organization's goal of providing high-quality care not only to North Texas but also to neighboring states like Oklahoma. The clinic's location near Dallas North Tollway and area airports will enhance accessibility for patients and families seeking specialized brain injury rehabilitation.
The new facility builds upon CNS's established reputation, with three existing clinics recently receiving accreditation from the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. By offering individualized counseling, family support, and opportunities to participate in brain injury research, the Plano clinic represents a comprehensive approach to neurorehabilitation.
Brain injuries, whether traumatic or acquired, can have profound and lasting impacts on individuals and their families. The national statistics are sobering: 2.9 million Americans visit emergency departments annually due to traumatic brain injuries. The Plano clinic's advanced treatment modalities and patient-centered approach aim to improve recovery outcomes and quality of life for those navigating these challenging medical conditions.
