European Gymnastics, an organization representing 50 national member federations and approximately 8.5 million gymnasts, has announced the launch of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant, Luigi. This initiative is powered by OriginTrail and aims to promote and develop synergy within the gymnastics community, enabling a borderless exchange of knowledge.
The AI assistant, Luigi, serves as a digital twin to the organization's mascot and is designed to keep the gymnastics community informed and connected. Users can utilize Luigi to find information about upcoming competitions, learn about significant events in European Gymnastics history, and understand the elements crucial for scoring routines on apparatus like the parallel bars.
One unique feature of Luigi is its ability to provide responses with cited sources, allowing users to delve deeper into specific information. This functionality is made possible through OriginTrail's Decentralized Knowledge Graph, which not only expands Luigi's initial knowledge base but also incorporates contributions from national federations, gymnasts, and fans. The use of blockchain technology ensures that all contributions are protected against tampering, reinforcing European Gymnastics' commitment to integrity.
The launch of Luigi coincides with the start of the Olympic Games, where the AI assistant will help users navigate performances by European gymnasts in Paris. Luigi is already equipped with the schedule and will receive daily updates on results.
Dr. Farid Gayibov, President of European Gymnastics, expressed excitement about the new initiative, noting that it represents a significant step in the organization's Strategy 2030. "European Gymnastics is excited to keep pushing the innovation in our sport. After being the first continental gymnastics federation to launch a digital cup competition this year, we are now making first steps into adopting Artificial Intelligence and blockchain to improve the ease of interaction with what is sometimes considered a complex world of Gymnastics," he stated.
