FWD Group Marks 13 Years with Charitable Grants Benefiting Over 13,000 People Across Asia

FWD Group Holdings Limited (FWD Group) has announced a series of charitable grants to mark its 13th anniversary, with the funding set to benefit more than 13,000 people across Asia. The initiative underscores the company's commitment to supporting the communities where it operates, extending its mission beyond its core life and health insurance business.

Established in 2013 with the goal of transforming the life insurance industry, FWD Group has grown from its initial operations in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Thailand into a pan-Asian insurer serving millions of customers across 10 markets. In July 2025, the company reached a significant milestone with its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the stock code 1828.

The 13 grants will fund a diverse range of programs focusing on financial literacy, career readiness, entrepreneurship, health and wellbeing, and community recovery. These initiatives are designed to address local needs and create lasting positive impacts.

In Hong Kong SAR, the grants will extend the JA SparktheDream Wellness Programme with Junior Achievement Hong Kong, providing interactive workshops and family activities for 2,600 primary school students to build social, emotional, and financial skills. Additionally, a football-based program with Save the Children Hong Kong will support 200 children and 80 caregivers affected by the Tai Po fire, while Plan International Hong Kong will lead psychosocial support and community-building initiatives for over 6,500 students, parents, and teachers in Tai Po.

Across the region, the grants will support a variety of projects: in Cambodia, 200 young people will receive financial education workshops with JCI Mekong; in Indonesia, 10 female entrepreneurs will be empowered through the InnovateHer Academy 4.0 with KUMPUL; in Japan, football clinics with Hands On Tokyo will promote inclusion for over 15 visually impaired individuals; and in Malaysia, 170 low-income families will benefit from health and financial literacy workshops and 100 cancer screening sessions with GivingHub.

The Philippines will see 100 university students receive career readiness and financial literacy training with Junior Achievement Philippines, while Singapore's Club Rainbow will organize a carnival for 50 children with chronic illnesses and their caregivers. In Thailand, seven disadvantaged youth will receive hospitality training scholarships with Pimali Foundation, and 30 educators will be trained to deliver financial literacy education with Junior Achievement Thailand. Vietnam will receive support for 800 students through financial literacy workshops and debate competitions, and 76 computers will be donated to schools in Khanh Hoa Province to help 1,800 students continue learning after severe flooding.

Huynh Thanh Phong, Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of FWD Group, emphasized the importance of these grants: "At FWD Group, changing the way people feel about insurance is about much more than looking after our customers – it’s also about supporting the communities where we operate. These 13 grants are a meaningful way to give back to the people and places that have been part of our journey. Together with trusted community partners, we hope to make a real difference in people’s lives, while also bringing our caring value to life through employee volunteering."

This announcement reflects FWD Group's broader strategy to integrate social responsibility into its business model, aligning with its customer-led and tech-enabled approach. By investing in community resilience and empowerment, the company aims to foster sustainable growth in the fast-growing insurance markets it serves.
