JT Money has released his seventh studio album entitled "Immortal" on Independence Day, marking a significant return to the music scene after a hiatus. The 15-track LP is the culmination of a three-year journey that has taken JT Money's music in a new direction while achieving dream collaborations that have been three decades in the making. This album solidifies JT Money's status as a pioneer in Hip Hop and Rap culture.
The album stays true to JT Money's Miami-bass roots with tracks like "Big Gulp" and "A$$ Back," the latter of which became the theme song for "MTV CRIBS." Collaborations include his first work with Trap Beckham on "On Your Best Friends" and a revitalized version of his classic "Ho Problems" titled "Mo Problems."
One of the standout tracks, "Miami Mt. Rushmore," features Rick Ross and Trick Daddy. In the song, JT Money reflects on his influence over the years, asking, "How can you not say my name when you make your lists?" and noting, "More than 30 years, a player done been through it. Out of 50 MCs, how many did I influence?"
The album also marks the return of Poison Clan with their first record in over 30 years. "Immortal" brings JT Money into 2024 with a compilation of bass-thumping trap beats, street lyrics, and even a jook song that showcases his unique style. As a key figure in the Miami bass movement, the first subgenre of Southern hip-hop, JT Money's brash and raw insights into South Florida life shine through in his music.
The primary goal behind "Immortal" is to bridge the gap between old school and new generation Hip-Hop artists. This is evident in tracks like "Been There, Done That," produced by Nixon On The Track & The Pyrvmids, and "Best Is Yet To Come," featuring CeeLo Green. Another notable track is "What This Pimp Bout," featuring 8Ball & MJG and The T.A.Y. from the C.H.I.
