LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF), a district-scale gold explorer and near-term producer, is advancing toward gold production from its sites in the renowned Abitibi greenstone belt of eastern Canada, one of the most prolific Archean belts in the world. The company’s recent Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for its Swanson Gold Deposit in Québec highlights a capital-efficient project with strong economics, supported by the company’s 100%-owned and refurbished Beacon Gold Mill.
“As we prepare for pre-operational tests and system checks at the Beacon Gold Mill in the coming months, we are transitioning from pure exploration and development to gold production execution,” said Paul Ténière, CEO of LaFleur Minerals. The PEA underscores the potential of the Swanson Gold Project to deliver long-term value, with the mill capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day. The mill is fully permitted and refurbished, and is being considered for processing mineralized material from Swanson as well as for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects.
The Swanson Gold Project spans approximately 18,304 hectares (183 km²) and includes several prospects rich in gold and critical metals previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. LaFleur has consolidated a large land package along a major structural break that hosts the Swanson, Bartec, and Jolin gold deposits, along with several other showings. The project is easily accessible by road, allowing direct access to several nearby gold mills, further enhancing its development potential.
This move toward production is significant for the mining industry, particularly in the Abitibi region, which has a long history of gold mining and continues to attract investment. The company’s ability to leverage existing infrastructure like the Beacon Gold Mill could reduce development timelines and costs, potentially accelerating cash flow generation. For investors, the transition from exploration to production execution may signal a de-risking of the project and a clearer path to revenue.
