(CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) has advanced its natural hydrogen exploration program by beginning drilling at the Lawson 3 well, following the successful casing of Lawson 2. This step underscores the company's belief that it may be developing the world's first large-scale commercial natural hydrogen system at the 28-square-kilometer Lawson Complex in Saskatchewan.

The Lawson 3 well is positioned approximately 2.2 kilometers east of Lawson 2 and 1.2 kilometers south of the original Lawson 1 discovery. This placement is strategic, as it will help triangulate the hydrogen deposit, providing critical data for geological modeling by GLJ Ltd. The integration of data from the first two wells will also guide the selection of the optimal location for Lawson 4, with completion testing and a potential production well planned to follow.

Lawson 2 has already delivered promising results, recording approximately 860 meters of continuous natural hydrogen readings—the strongest measurements to date at the project. The well also confirmed an extensive fracture system and favorable source rocks, reaching a total depth of 2,440 meters and recovering 120 meters of core, including a record 89.2 meters from the Precambrian basement complex for a single Saskatchewan well. These findings bolster the geological model and support the potential scale and continuity of the hydrogen system.

The ongoing drilling program is designed to evaluate the commercial viability of natural hydrogen, which is considered a clean energy source with significant potential to reduce carbon emissions. If successful, this could position Saskatchewan as a key player in the emerging natural hydrogen industry, offering a new domestic energy source and potentially attracting investment and job creation.
