Alexander Graham Bell once said, "When one door closes, another door opens." Meryska Taylor experienced this firsthand when she lost her job of six years. Almost immediately, Taylor decided to pursue her passion for hair, leading to the opening of Meryska's Loc Maintenance LLC at Salon and Spa Galleria Grapevine.
Despite having no formal training, Taylor relied on her 13 years of experience and five years of business acumen to launch her new venture. Known for her professionalism and energy, Taylor's passion for hair care sets her apart in the industry. "I work from my soul," Taylor remarked. "I try to give 100 percent to each client, and I take pride in growing and nurturing my clients' locs."
Meryska's Loc Maintenance offers a variety of services beyond traditional loc maintenance, including deep washes, scalp massages, Ayurvedic treatments, and tea rinses. Clients can also purchase handmade products from Taylor's own brand, Meryska's Loc Maintenance Line, which includes oil, rosewater, and shampoo, as well as vitamins and accessories. Additionally, Taylor educates her clients on holistic practices that promote hair and scalp health.
Initially operating as a mobile-based loctician, Taylor soon realized the need for a dedicated space and found the perfect fit at Salon and Spa Galleria Grapevine. The location is centrally situated, making it easily accessible for her existing mobile clientele and new clients alike. Its proximity to large businesses and shopping areas, along with major interchanges and roadways, ensures convenience for all.
To celebrate the opening, Taylor is offering a special promotion: a free simple style for new clients during the month of July. The simple style options include one or two barrel rolls, ponytails, a bun, half up/half down ponytail, or a pineapple style.
Meryska's Loc Maintenance LLC operates daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with early-morning and late-night appointments available for an additional fee. Walk-ins and same-day appointments are also welcome. Appointments can be scheduled via Taylor's booking site.
