Minivela has officially launched MinivelaTV, a digital platform delivering drama shorts designed to capture the imagination of English and Spanish-speaking Latino audiences aged 18-34. The innovative platform, co-founded by actor Carlos Ponce and supported by Brilla Media and Numatec, offers a fresh approach to storytelling through TikTok-style short-form content.
The platform's initial programming encompasses a diverse range of genres, including romantic comedies, supernatural narratives, and original series. Titles like "Woman Finds Love on the TV Dating Show from Hell" and "Hombre compra novia robot para creer celos a su ex" underscore the platform's commitment to creative and unconventional storytelling.
MinivelaTV represents a significant development in digital entertainment for the Latino community. By producing content primarily in Miami, Los Angeles, and Texas, the platform provides a comprehensive representation of the Latino diaspora, featuring creators and actors from various backgrounds including Mexican-American, Puerto Rican, Cuban-American, and South American communities.
The platform's strategic approach extends beyond content creation. Through partnerships with Numatec and Brilla Media's Nuestro Media network, MinivelaTV offers advertisers a sophisticated channel to engage young Latino audiences across digital platforms, connected TV, and social media channels.
Manny Ruiz, Minivela's Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer, emphasized the platform's scalability and potential for growth. The content, ranging from 10 to 90 minutes, is designed to be family-friendly and accessible, with the potential for stories to evolve into full series or feature films.
By leveraging the popularity of telenovela-inspired storytelling and adapting it to contemporary digital consumption habits, MinivelaTV is positioning itself as a innovative entertainment platform. The initiative not only provides entertainment but also creates opportunities for content creators to develop their craft and reach wider audiences.
