Nevada Organic Phosphate Inc. (CSE: NOP; OTCQB: NOPFF) announced that Falcon Drilling is mobilizing to its Murdock Mountain property to complete the planned 2026 drilling program. The company said drill hole MM26-10 successfully intersected the Upper Phosphate Zone, extending the confirmed strike length of phosphate mineralization to more than 3 kilometres, with additional drilling planned along the strike trend.
Nevada Organic Phosphate said further interpretation of assay data confirmed that MM26-8 also intersected the Upper Phosphate Zone, returning 4.60% P2O5 over 5 metres true thickness. The company said continued step-out drilling is designed to test strike continuity and refine true-thickness and grade controls across the broader Murdock Mountain trend.
The announcement matters because it demonstrates progress in defining a potentially significant phosphate resource at Murdock Mountain. Phosphate is a critical input for fertilizers and organic agriculture, and a large-scale domestic source could reduce reliance on imports. The company describes NOP as a junior exploration company with an organic sedimentary raw rock phosphate bed, 6.6 kilometres long, in northeast Nevada. Additional applications extend the potential strike of rock phosphate to over 30 kilometres. This is believed to be the only known large-scale organic sedimentary phosphate project in North America. It is situated close to the main highway to Montello/Elko, Nevada, and near the rail head to California.
For investors, the mobilization of Falcon Drilling signals that exploration is advancing toward resource definition. The confirmation of the Upper Phosphate Zone over a 3-kilometre strike length, along with the reported 4.60% P2O5 over 5 metres true thickness at MM26-8, provides tangible evidence of continuity. If further drilling continues to intersect mineralization along strike, it could support a future resource estimate and eventually a feasibility study. However, as a junior exploration company, NOP remains at an early stage, and there is no guarantee that additional drilling will result in a commercially viable deposit.
The project's location in northeast Nevada offers logistical advantages, including proximity to a major highway and a rail head to California. That could facilitate the transport of phosphate rock to markets or processing facilities if the project advances. The organic nature of the phosphate bed may also appeal to the growing organic fertilizer market, which seeks natural sources of phosphate free from certain synthetic additives.
