WebCE has introduced new Iowa Insurance Adjuster Exam Prep and Appraiser Exam Prep courses designed to help professionals comply with licensing requirements established by Iowa's Senate File 619. The legislation, signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds on April 22, 2025, was enacted in response to the devastating tornadoes and flooding that impacted Iowa in 2024.
The new law created several insurance license types that became effective July 1, 2025, including Public Adjuster (Business Entity), Independent Adjuster (Individual and Business Entity), Staff Adjuster (Individual), Appraiser (Individual and Business Entity), and Umpire (Individual). Operating without the required state-issued insurance license now constitutes a Class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and fines ranging from $750 to $7,500.
WebCE's team of industry experts conducted a comprehensive review of Senate File 619 to develop curriculum that accurately aligns with Iowa's new regulatory framework. The courses provide focused learning material specifically tailored to the knowledge required for passing the state licensing examinations. Professionals can access these resources through WebCE's online platform.
The exam preparation courses feature an AI-powered Chat Tutor that offers 24/7 assistance, personalized explanations of complex topics, unlimited practice questions, and scenario-based learning exercises. This technological integration aims to ensure comprehensive mastery of the material required for licensure under Iowa's new regulatory environment.
The implementation of these licensing requirements represents a significant shift in Iowa's insurance regulatory landscape, particularly for professionals involved in claims adjustment and appraisal services. The legislation's timing follows widespread natural disasters that highlighted the need for qualified, licensed professionals in insurance-related roles throughout the state.
