North Atlantic Titanium Corp. (CSE: NATO) (OTCQB: NATQ.F) (FSE: Y33) has released additional information regarding its application for drilling permits at the Everett Titanium-Vanadium-Phosphate project near Havre-Saint-Pierre, Quebec. The company plans a 25,000-meter drilling program targeting the northern portion of the Everett oxide body, following compelling mineralogical characterization results from Corem, a Quebec-based applied research center.
The Corem analysis of a composite metallurgical sample from 57 sites across the Everett oxide body found that approximately 99% of oxide minerals consist of high-quality hemo-ilmenite with very low magnesium, manganese, and aluminum impurities. The sample graded 37.0% Fe2O3, 17.4% TiO2, 0.18% V2O5, and 2.27% P2O5. Unlike the nearby Lac Tio mine—the world's largest hard-rock ilmenite deposit—the Everett oxide body is being drill-tested not only for its titanium dioxide content but also for its potential as a broader Fe-Ti-V-P critical-minerals opportunity, including vanadium, phosphate, and possible scandium credits.
The company holds the 2,406-hectare Everett property under option from Romaine River Titanium Inc. Pending permits include a Permit for Forestry Activities (PAF) and a Permit for Work with Impact (ATI). The drilling plan focuses on confirming historical drilling from 1951 and 1968 in the northern area, totaling approximately 25,000 meters across 20 drill pads over three years. Stage 1 will consist of 6,000 meters of widely spaced drilling to delineate the oxide body limits, while Stage 2 will involve 19,000 meters of infill drilling to define a Mineral Resource Estimate.
CEO Dwayne Yaretz stated, “Metallurgical results reinforce the Company’s strategy to advance a secure, domestic critical minerals processing supply chain in Canada - supporting defense readiness and the reshoring of Western titanium metal production.” The project is located within the Lac Allard Anorthosite intrusion, part of the Grenville Province, which hosts several major iron, titanium, and phosphorus deposits. The Everett oxide body lies only 3 km from Rio Tinto's Lac Tio mine, which supplies approximately 19% of global titanium dioxide feedstock demand.
The Corem analysis confirmed that over 99% of the oxides in the composite sample are hemo-ilmenite, with significantly lower magnesium content (mean MgO of 0.38%) compared to Lac Tio. This distinction supports the company's strategy to target a polymetallic deposit rather than a direct analogue of Lac Tio. The drilling program aims to advance the project toward a resource estimate and support the development of a domestic critical minerals supply chain.
