Satyadhar Joshi, a researcher and educator focused on AI governance and workforce development, has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Social Impact Leader of the Year category at The 23rd Annual International Business Awards® (IBAs). The award recognizes his work in making AI research and educational resources freely available to policymakers, educators, and the public.
The International Business Awards, often described as the world's premier business awards program, received more than 3,400 nominations this year from organizations in 82 nations and territories. Winners were selected by over 200 business professionals serving on specialized judging committees, who evaluated entries based on a range of criteria including innovation, leadership, and social impact.
Joshi's award nomination highlighted his engagement with government and academic institutions, as well as his publicly available educational materials. These include free online courses and two open-access books covering artificial intelligence, financial risk management, and workforce development. The books are distributed through more than 10 digital platforms, including Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and OverDrive, ensuring broad accessibility.
“This recognition reinforces my belief that research should not remain behind paywalls or be limited to academic or government silos. My goal is to continue developing cross-agency, cross-domain collaboration and practical, freely accessible frameworks and training materials, including online courses, open-access books, and video content, that help governments, educators, organizations, and communities navigate the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence responsibly and inclusively,” Joshi said.
The Bronze Stevie Award is the latest in a series of accolades for Joshi. In November 2025, he received a Silver Globee® Award for Impact for his work on AI integration in education and workforce policy. In April 2026, he was named a TITAN Business Award winner in the Training category for a video-based workforce training initiative supported by research and educational content.
The significance of Joshi's work lies in its potential to bridge the gap between complex AI research and practical application. By making resources freely accessible, he aims to empower stakeholders who might otherwise lack the tools to understand and respond to AI's impact on employment and society. This is particularly important as AI continues to reshape industries and labor markets worldwide.
Stevie Awards President Maggie Miller commented, “The 2026 International Business Awards winners represent the very best in business achievement from organizations of all sizes and across virtually every industry. This year's winners have demonstrated exceptional innovation, leadership, resilience, and results in a highly competitive global field.”
The winners will be celebrated at a gala event at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse on Wednesday, October 28. Additional information about the 2026 International Business Awards and individual category winners is available from the International Business Awards website.
