SBF AG Unveils Two Product Innovations to Accelerate Growth in Sensor Technology and Electromechanics

SBF AG, a listed specialist for innovative solutions in rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology, announced two product innovations aimed at strengthening its 'Sensor Technology and Electromechanics' business segment. The enhanced Automatic Label Feeder (ALF) and the automatic optical inspection system INSPECT are field-tested solutions developed in-house, now commercialized for industrial customers with similar requirements. These innovations address the megatrends of automation and digitalization, offering direct customer benefits and additional earnings potential.

Robert Stocklinger, Member of the Management Board of SBF AG, emphasized the strategic importance: 'We are now even better positioned for the future with these product developments. INSPECT takes quality assurance in electronics manufacturing to a new level of automation. Solutions with high customer value and clear efficiency potential are exactly the kind of innovation with which the SBF Group aims to grow. In electronics manufacturing, traceability and automation are decisive competitive factors. With the Automatic Label Feeder, we’re addressing exactly that need and are continually expanding the technology’s capabilities to include new applications such as the labeling of printed circuit boards, electronic components, and now glass vials as well. This demonstrates the adaptability of our technology and sustainably strengthens our product portfolio.'

The Automatic Label Feeder sets a standard for precise, reliable labeling in industrial manufacturing. Originally developed for in-house electronics production, ALF is now an independent product line due to strong customer demand. The latest enhancement enables fully automated labeling of glass vials, opening up new target industries beyond electronics, including pharmaceuticals, laboratory diagnostics, and fine chemicals. The platform architecture allows flexible adaptation to different production processes, providing a basis for further growth.

With INSPECT, SBF has reached a milestone in product development. This optical inspection system automates quality inspection of electronic assemblies after SMD assembly, enhancing process control. A high-resolution camera captures the assembled printed circuit board, and the software identifies fiducial marks, component positions, and orientations, reads all standard barcode and 2D code formats, and automatically documents inspection results. The system can be set up within minutes, and calibration and operating data are fully retained during updates. Stability and robustness in continuous operation have been improved, ensuring reliable performance even during hardware failures.

These products exemplify SBF’s innovation model: technologies developed to optimize internal processes are brought to market maturity, creating additional sales and growth potential. This strengthens the product portfolio tailored to industrial customers and reinforces the Group’s technological expertise in automation and digitalization, benefiting all business segments.

The SBF Group, listed with ISIN: DE000A2AAE22 and WKN: A2AAE2, operates through specialized hidden champions. Its business segments include Rolling Stock, Public and Industrial Lighting, and Sensor Technology and Electromechanics. For more information, visit https://www.sbf-ag.com.
