Scarefest Scream Park, a family-owned 50-acre Halloween park in Lenox Township, Michigan, is entering its landmark 20th anniversary season. Founded in 2006, the park has become a cornerstone of Michigan's autumn landscape, employing hundreds of local residents and supporting local charity organizations, according to a recent announcement.
The milestone season features the park's signature blend of fear and fun. Beyond the four main attractions, guests can enjoy nightly stage entertainment, Halloween movies, roaming ghouls, photo ops, bonfires, and a heated bar tent. A virtual queue system allows visitors to spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the festivities.
The park's attractions cater to a range of thrill levels, from family-friendly to intense. The Castle of the Dead is an 8,000-square-foot haunted house where guests face terrors lurking just beyond the doors. The Hayride of Doom offers a narrated, family-friendly ride following a researcher and his AI assistant as they navigate the aftermath of a viral outbreak. The Forest of Darkness is a haunted walk along the Salt River, through woods inhabited by specters of death. The Terror Zone Maze is a thrilling dark maze packed with twists, strobes, 3D effects, and terror at every dead end.
Before the official October season, Scarefest is hosting two exclusive special event weekends geared toward adults 21 and older. Ghouls Night Out, scheduled for September 18 and 19 from 7 PM to 12 AM, offers a unique twist on 'girls night out' with a 'Sip & Shop' local artisan vendor show, wine tastings, mixology demonstrations, crafts, and Zumba. BBQ, Bourbon & Boos, set for September 25 and 26 from 7 PM to 12 AM, features a live band, local bourbon and whiskey tastings, and barbecue food selections, combining crisp night air with the warmth of aged oak and hickory smoke.
