Vinhomes has unveiled the master plan for Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long, a sprawling 6,200-hectare integrated urban development adjacent to the UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay. This project, the company's largest to date, signals a shift in urban development philosophy: instead of measuring success by sheer land area, Vinhomes emphasizes the value each hectare delivers to residents. As cities worldwide face challenges like climate change and population growth, the OECD advocates for urban areas that connect people to jobs and services, enhance climate resilience, and integrate nature into infrastructure. Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long embodies this vision by creating a fully integrated city rather than a mere residential complex.
Positioned along the Hanoi–Hai Phong–Quang Ninh Expressway, the project sits at the crossroads of northern Vietnam's tourism, industrial, and logistics corridors. It is designed to shorten distances between living, working, learning, and essential services. A key feature is its adjacency to the future depot station of the Hanoi–Quang Ninh high-speed railway, which is projected to cut travel time to Hanoi to approximately 23 minutes, enabling daily commutes between the capital and the World Heritage landscape. Residents will enjoy uninterrupted views of Ha Long Bay, clean air, and expansive waterfronts. Housing options include villas, townhouses, shophouses, and high-rise apartments across six districts.
Sustainability is a core tenet, with over 2,500 hectares dedicated to green spaces, water bodies, and mangroves, including 680 hectares of naturally filtered seawater, 200 kilometers of coastline, and the 660-hectare Globe Ha Long Forest Park. These ecological assets aim to support biodiversity and climate resilience, reflecting Vinhomes' ESG++ regenerative development approach. The city is organized into interconnected ecosystems: culture and entertainment will feature a 60,000-seat outdoor waterfront venue, the 3,000-seat Wonder Theatre, an 81-hectare VinWonders destination with the world's largest aquarium park, an international convention center for 4,500 guests, and an 18.5-hectare Vietnamese Cultural and Culinary Village.
Hospitality and leisure include internationally managed luxury hotels, integrated casino facilities, a 950-hectare golf complex with 12 courses, an 800-hectare mangrove recreational park, and Wonder Marina for direct Ha Long Bay access. Commerce will be anchored by Vincom Mega Mall, premium outlets, and Vincom Collection retail streets. Sports and wellness amenities include Vietnam's first purpose-built Sports District spanning 13.3 hectares, a professional sports academy, and over 50 kilometers of cycling routes. Health and education are served by the 14-hectare Vinmec Cleveland Clinic International Hospital, Vietnam's largest senior living center, Vinschool campuses, an American international school, and Wonder Young Hub. A new central business district with 30- to 45-story office towers will attract businesses, reinforcing Ha Long's economic role.
Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long is planned in alignment with ISO 37125, the international standard for sustainable urban development, and incorporates Vingroup's ESG++ approach. Smart technologies like AI and IoT will optimize city operations, alongside green mobility systems. The project's three guiding principles—connectivity, regeneration, and excellence—aim to demonstrate how mobility, environmental stewardship, public services, commerce, and culture can function within a single framework. By prioritizing value per hectare, Vinhomes is setting a new benchmark for future urban development, showing that true scale lies in the quality of life delivered, not just the size of the land.
