VYRE Network Partners with Filmmaker Dr. Greg Carter to Expand Regional Content Strategy in Texas

VYRE Network, a global streaming platform focused on empowering filmmakers and creators, announced a strategic partnership with filmmaker and showrunner Dr. Greg Carter, founder of Nexus Entertainment. Under the agreement, Dr. Carter will guide VYRE's curated content strategy across Texas and surrounding regional markets, emphasizing feature films, television series, docu-series, and live events.

Dr. Carter, a Houston native with over two decades of experience, has credits including more than 30 feature films and network television projects such as Lucky Girl, My B.F.F., and the VH1-premiered Hip Hop Family Christmas Wedding produced with Jamie Foxx. He currently serves as a professor at the University of Houston and recently was creator and showrunner of the AMC Networks series 5th Ward. Lamar Seay, Co-founder and Chief Content Officer of VYRE, stated the team is excited to collaborate on projects like 5th Ward and future initiatives.

"My mission is simple: to empower regional creators and give them a real pathway to funding, development, production oversight, and worldwide exposure," said Dr. Carter. He highlighted the richness of untold stories in Houston and the broader region, noting the new office aims to cultivate these voices for global audiences. The partnership involves Dr. Carter working with VYRE's executive programming team to curate and supervise regional content, establish strategic relationships, package projects, and expand VYRE's footprint as a destination for professionally produced, culturally relevant storytelling.

A key component includes discovering and developing filmmakers from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) in the Southern Region. Dr. Carter will also lead educational sessions for Texas-based creators, covering project financing, deal structure, pitching, packaging, and distribution pathways. This aligns with VYRE's mission to support creators beyond distribution alone. Beginning in 2026, audiences can stream curated titles from Nexus Entertainment and regional acquisitions free on the VYRE app across devices including Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV, as well as via the web at https://vyre.tv.

The partnership strengthens VYRE Network's position as a scalable platform for premium independent content while providing Nexus Entertainment and regional creators with global distribution and strategic infrastructure. VYRE Network, launched in 2019, is dedicated to serving filmmakers, TV creators, and athletes through tools like global distribution, film financing, and production support, bridging the gap between independent and mainstream entertainment. By championing diverse voices, VYRE continues to redefine the entertainment landscape, helping creators turn visions into reality on a global scale.
