The 11,000 square-foot facility in Kansas City aims to cater to all ages and skill levels, encouraging players to explore and create their unique experiences. Guests can participate in groups of two to five players, using high-tech electronic RFID wristbands to track progress, rack up points, level up, and earn prizes. Key gaming rooms include the Mega Grid, a TikTok viral sensation featuring over 500 multi-activated rainbow-colored tiles, the Strike game with its beaming bullseye, and the Laser room where players can feel like modern-day spies.
Players can choose from various difficulty levels, ranging from Level 1 easy to Level 10 extreme, and can play in cooperative mode or challenge their friends in competitive mode games. The facility's diverse offerings make it a versatile entertainment option for families, friends, and gaming enthusiasts.
In addition to Kansas City, Activate has a presence in major U.S. markets such as Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, and New Jersey, and Canadian markets including Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, and Brampton. The company has plans for further expansion in 2024 with new locations in New York (Roosevelt Field) and Detroit, MI, along with international openings in Dubai and the UK in 2025.
For those planning a visit to Activate Kansas City, it is recommended to book in advance to secure a preferred time slot. Each game lasts between 1-3 minutes, with the entire gaming experience taking approximately 75 minutes. Participants must complete a waiver in advance and are advised to wear activewear and indoor runners. The facility is open to individuals aged 10 and older, with operating hours from 9:30 am to 10:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, and until 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
