BHS Inc. Launches Modular Order Picker Attachments to Boost Warehouse Safety and Efficiency

BHS, Inc., a St. Louis-based manufacturer of custom material handling equipment, has announced the release of a new line of modular attachments for order picker trucks. The products aim to address the growing need for versatile and safe picking solutions in warehouses with narrow-aisle racking systems.

The new line includes four product series: Modular Order Picker Carts, which feature heavy-duty casters and can double as pushcarts for ground-level tasks; Modular Order Picker Platforms, which lack casters and are designed solely as truck attachments; Order Picker Furniture Carts; and Order Picker Furniture Platforms, both sized for furniture order picker trucks with longer forks. These attachments are custom-sized to eliminate gaps or offsets between the platform and the truck's operator deck, reducing tripping hazards—a common safety risk with some existing attachments.

According to Trent Boothe, Technical Sales Manager at BHS, the modular design is the key advantage. Users can adjust shelf spacing, remove shelves, or add rails and guarding using standard tools, allowing them to create an ideal work platform without waiting for custom-made equipment. “We specialize in designing custom equipment, but it takes time to design something from scratch,” Boothe said. “Our modular solutions ship a lot faster than an all-original product. They give you custom performance without custom lead times.”

The introduction of these attachments is significant as more warehouses adopt narrow-aisle racking to maximize storage space, relying heavily on order picker trucks. According to BHS, the new attachments make those trucks safer, more productive, and flexible enough to handle a variety of tasks. The modular components allow warehouses to adapt quickly to changing inventory or workflow needs without investing in multiple specialized tools.

The attachments are available now exclusively from BHS, Inc. For more information, visit https://www.bhs1.com.
