Comcast NBCUniversal and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service have announced a partnership to offer U.S. service members and honorably discharged veterans free streaming access to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. This initiative allows military personnel worldwide to watch the Olympics on their personal devices and computers through ShopMyExchange.com from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
The collaboration will provide over 5,000 hours of Olympic coverage, including live competition across all 39 sports and 329 medal events. In addition to live sports, the streaming service will feature top stories, key moments, practice sessions, event recaps, highlights, and interviews, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Games.
Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Rich Martinez, the Exchange's senior enlisted advisor, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the importance of bringing the Olympics to service members and their families. "The Olympics are one of the biggest events in the world, and we’re excited to play a role in helping our military community cheer on Team USA," Martinez said.
Mona Dexter, VP of Military & Veteran Affairs at Comcast NBCUniversal, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the privilege of providing unprecedented access to the historic event. "It’s our privilege to provide unprecedented access to this historic event to U.S. military service members and veterans, where the world's greatest athletes will compete against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful cities in the world," Dexter stated.
Service members can access the Olympic coverage from their computers or personal devices by visiting NBCOlympics.com on desktop or the NBC Sports App in the U.S. and selecting the Exchange as their service provider. Due to content rights restrictions, an active ShopMyExchange.com account is required. Additionally, OCONUS viewers must be on a military installation with internet service provided by an authorized provider to access the streaming service. Authorized providers include 101 GLOBAL, Allied Telesis, Americable, Babtel, Basefix, Boingo, DHI/TravelWiFi, DSN, LG Uplus, Mediatti Broadband, Solutions by STC, Telecom Italia, TKS, and US Wicom.
