Flash has announced the full U.S. release of reservable parking transactions in Waze, developed in collaboration with the popular navigation app. This integration adds to Flash's existing partnerships with Google Search and Google Maps, offering drivers a comprehensive suite of parking options across three major platforms. These integrations feature many of the world's largest parking operators and owners, providing a seamless experience for users.
With this new feature, drivers entering their destinations in Waze will now see suggestions for nearby reservable parking locations. The app will display essential details such as cost, amenities, wheelchair accessibility, and valet options. Drivers can reserve and pay for their chosen parking spot directly through Waze, which will then route them to the selected destination with a digital pass for access.
Dan Roarty, Chief Digital Officer at Flash, stated, "Driver behaviors and expectations are shifting, and our efforts to embed reservable parking and charging experiences with leading apps and platforms anticipated that shift. We can help parking asset owners and operators meet drivers in the apps and sites where they plan their travel and bring an end to the era of circling blocks, wasting time and fuel in the search for parking."
Early results indicate that integrating parking reservations into widely used search and navigation apps benefits parking owners and operators significantly. Over 90 percent of drivers using these services are new customers to the parking locations. These drivers typically make reservations 8.5 hours in advance and from a median distance of 22.3 miles away, showing a strong tendency to plan ahead through digital services they trust.
Robert Zuritsky, President and CEO of Parkway, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "This is an exciting time in the parking industry as Flash continues to partner with Parkway to make our customer experience more seamless and integrated than ever. Flash understands our business and continually innovates to deliver new channels and capabilities that drive additional customers and transactions to us."
Flash's integration with Waze, Google Search, and Google Maps aims to unify operators' availability and pricing data and performance metrics across these platforms. This move is part of Flash's broader strategy to expand its integration footprint, which already includes partnerships with Ticketmaster, major event venues, and automakers like Mercedes Benz and Hyundai. Flash's flexible developer tools and payment configurations support a wide range of interfaces, from desktop and mobile browsers to connected car dashboards and enterprise applications for employee parking and fleets.
