Kaufman & Company, the permanent capital holding company founded by Daniel Kaufman, announced on October 7, 2026, the launch of eight brands that will serve as the public face of everything the platform designs, builds and operates. The brands—Haven, Foundry, Trellis, Convivium, Everwell, District, Weekender and ZeroPoint—organize the company’s work into three categories: Residential, Places and Infrastructure. The launch is the next step in building out the Kaufman & Company platform, which today spans ten operating companies across residential development, workforce housing, AI infrastructure and venture capital. Over the next year, every asset in the company’s current portfolio and future pipeline will be rebranded under the brand that matches its asset class and the people it serves.
Why brands, and why now? As the platform has grown to ten operating companies, the names on the paperwork stopped matching how residents, partners and cities actually experience the work. A family looking for an attainable home, a nurse looking for an apartment near the hospital, a retiree looking for an active community, and a hyperscale tenant looking for power and capacity all need very different things. The brands give each of those audiences a clear answer about what they are getting, before they ever need to know which entity built it. Each brand represents a community or asset class focus, not a separate legal entity. Every brand is endorsed by Kaufman & Company and is designed, built, and operated by one of its ten operating companies, so the development discipline, balance sheet, and long-term ownership behind every address stays the same.
“We have been building across almost every asset class at once, and the work deserved names that say what it is,” said Daniel Kaufman, Founder and CEO of Kaufman & Company. “A Haven community, a Foundry community and a ZeroPoint campus solve very different problems. Our operating companies still do the building. The brands tell residents, partners and cities what they can count on from us, wherever we show up.”
Under Residential, Haven focuses on attainable housing, with new construction apartment and townhome communities, public-private partnerships with housing authorities and tax credit programs, and walkable, village-scale planning, operated by Design Build Affordable. Foundry builds workforce housing near employment centers, transit, and everyday life, through downtown and transit-served infill, adaptive reuse, modular construction, and multi-site portfolios, operated by DanReDev. Trellis is the scalable middle market brand, building townhomes, cottages, small multifamily buildings, and build-to-rent neighborhoods, operated by Kaufman Development. Convivium is a vertically integrated platform for tech-forward residential, co-living, co-working, and hospitality communities, with smart building systems built in from day one. Everwell is the active adult and independent living brand, operated by Lonestar Kaufman.
Under Places, District builds walkable mixed-use destinations where people live, work, dine, gather, and connect, operated by Forge Development Partners. Weekender is the design-driven hospitality brand, building boutique and destination hotels around a specific place rather than a repeatable room count, operated by DEK Builds. Under Infrastructure, ZeroPoint is the institutional brand for the physical buildings, power systems, and networks that run the next generation of artificial intelligence and distributed computing. Its first deployment, Project Zero, is a working distributed micro data center prototype installed on site in Detroit, Michigan. ZeroPoint’s pipeline includes the Rio Grande Data Campus in El Paso, Texas, and the Wasatch Data Campus in Utah, both joint ventures between Lonestar Kaufman Development Partners and ServerDomes Global, operated by Kaufman Development.
The brand rollout will continue over the next twelve months. During that period, Kaufman & Company will rebrand every asset in its current portfolio and every project in its future pipeline under the brand that fits it, including signage, websites, marketing materials, and resident-facing communications. Several pipeline communities have already moved to their new brands, including Haven at Shelburne, Foundry’s Falls Landing, Trellis’s Greenview Residences and Everwell at Harpeth Reserve. New opportunities entering the pipeline will launch under a brand from day one. The ten operating companies remain the builders and operators behind every brand, and existing partners, lenders and municipal relationships continue unchanged.
“The rollout is going to take a year because we want to get it right, one community at a time,” said Kaufman. “By this time next year, anyone who drives past one of our properties, visits one of our sites or partners with us on a deal should be able to tell exactly what we built and who we built it for.”
This brand strategy matters because it clarifies the company’s diverse offerings for residents, partners, and cities, potentially enhancing market positioning and customer trust. By aligning its public identity with its operational structure, Kaufman & Company aims to strengthen its ability to deliver tailored solutions across housing, commercial, and infrastructure sectors, which could influence investment decisions and community development nationwide.
