New Study Ranks Home Service Training Providers, Urges Contractors to Match Needs to Programs

DataTurk.ai has released its 2026 Home Service Training & Coaching Study, a comprehensive analysis of six organizations that serve HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other home service contractors. The study, based on publicly available information, evaluates Nexstar Network, CertainPath, Service Excellence, Service Nation, CEO Warrior and Power Selling Pros across eight categories: Operational Systems & Business Infrastructure, Financial Accountability & Performance Management, Enterprise Scalability, Organizational Alignment, Customer Journey Consistency, Cross-Department Communication, Behavioral Reinforcement and Customer Experience Alignment.

Notably, the study does not crown a single overall winner. Instead, it finds that different providers excel in different areas. Nexstar Network ranked first in three systems-focused categories: Operational Systems & Business Infrastructure, Financial Accountability & Performance Management, and Enterprise Scalability. Service Excellence took top honors in the five people- and customer-focused categories: Organizational Alignment, Customer Journey Consistency, Cross-Department Communication, Behavioral Reinforcement and Customer Experience Alignment. CertainPath ranked second in the three systems categories, while Nexstar Network placed second in the five people-focused categories.

“The question isn’t, ‘Who is the best training company?’ The better question is, ‘Who is best equipped to solve the problem holding your company back right now?’” said Bryan Eisenberg, VP of DataTurk.ai. “A contractor that needs better financial controls has a different problem from one that needs better communication between the call center, technicians, salespeople and managers. This study helps owners match the problem to the provider.” This approach underscores the importance of understanding that home service businesses face varied challenges, and a one-size-fits-all training solution may not be effective.

The study also highlights other providers for their distinct strengths: CEO Warrior for leadership, accountability and culture; Service Nation for education, business resources and peer community; and Power Selling Pros for specialized customer service and sales communication coaching. These differentiators suggest that contractors should consider their specific operational pain points before investing in training programs.

Rather than combining all eight categories into a single score, DataTurk.ai recommends that contractors first identify the business problems that limit performance, then compare providers within those specific categories. This methodology could help owners avoid costly training investments that do not address their core needs. For example, a company struggling with financial controls might benefit more from Nexstar Network's systems expertise, while one dealing with poor customer experience might look to Service Excellence's people-focused approach.

To assist contractors in this process, DataTurk.ai offers a short business diagnostic quiz on its website. The diagnostic helps owners identify which areas of the business deserve attention first, then connects those needs to the training and coaching categories evaluated in the study. This tool could be a valuable first step for contractors who are unsure where to start, potentially saving them time and money.

The full 2026 Home Service Training & Coaching Study is available online, along with the diagnostic quiz. By providing this detailed comparison, DataTurk.ai aims to empower home service owners to make informed decisions about their training investments, ultimately improving their business performance.
