Outamation, an AI-native mortgage operations technology company, announced that Equifax consumer credit data is now integrated into its OutamateMods platform. The integration, which is live today for OutamateMods clients, provides mortgage servicers with soft-pull credit data directly within the retention workflow, allowing them to identify performing borrowers who may be good candidates for a loan modification.
The move comes as refinance activity remains low in the current rate environment. However, Outamation expects that to change once rates fall, and the company says the new integration positions servicers to react on day one of a refinance wave. By identifying performing borrowers who could benefit from a modification, servicers can offer qualified consumers new opportunities to improve their cash flow while helping servicers maintain their portfolios.
With the integration, servicers gain access to Equifax soft-pull credit data inside OutamateMods and across the broader Outamation platform. The platform also provides portfolio retention review to identify performing borrowers who are candidates for a modification, end-to-end execution from eligibility through documents and closing, and support for retention and recapture programs, including performing loan modifications for portfolio loans.
“The time to build a retention program is before the next refinance wave, not during it,” said Ron Morton, Chief Revenue Officer at Outamation. “Keeping a borrower costs far less than winning one back, so having the tools in place now to prepare is a critical step to create compelling offers for consumers quickly.”
Carrie Doyle, VP of Business Development, Digital Alliances for Mortgage & Housing at Equifax, added, “Mortgage servicers need timely insights to help match borrowers with the right loan. Bringing Equifax soft-pull credit data into OutamateMods puts that insight directly inside the retention workflow. It helps servicers act sooner and serve borrowers better.”
The integration matters for the mortgage servicing industry because retaining existing borrowers is generally more cost-effective than acquiring new ones. As rates eventually decline, servicers that have already established retention programs may be better positioned to keep performing loans on their books and avoid losing borrowers to competitors. For consumers, the use of soft-pull credit data means servicers can assess modification eligibility without impacting credit scores, potentially opening the door to more favorable loan terms.
Outamation’s platform is designed to help servicers streamline operations and improve borrower outcomes. The company says the integration is available immediately. Servicers interested in learning more can visit outamation.com.
