Texas Mineral Resources Corp. (TMRC) has recently shared preliminary results from its exploratory drilling efforts in the Black Hawk Mining District, Grant County, New Mexico. These efforts are part of the company's evaluation under a 2021 mineral exploration and option agreement with Santa Fe Gold Corporation. The drilling, which spanned March to May 2025, aimed to test the effectiveness of the Electro-Magnetic survey method in locating veins and to assess the remaining ore within the historic Alhambra mine's upper workings.
Of the 20 diamond drill holes completed, aggregating 2751.5 feet, ten intersected strongly altered carbonate veins at or near the expected depth when testing Electro-Magnetic anomalies. This outcome suggests the NANOTEM method, adapted for the Black Hawk district by Zonge International, is successful in locating veins, albeit without distinguishing between native silver and sulfide bearing veins. The drilling also revealed that seven of eleven holes directed at the Alhambra vein intersected strongly brecciated, carbonate veins between stopes, indicating the presence of mineralized structures.
Daniel Gorski, CEO of TMRC, expressed optimism about the findings, stating the success of NANOTEM in identifying veins is encouraging for the project's future exploration and development. The Black Hawk Mining District is known for its 'Five Element Veins,' with the Alhambra mine featuring carbonate filled structures that could contain high-grade cores. TMRC is currently analyzing the drill core, with a complete report pending.
The collaboration with the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources highlights the project's significance, as their geologists and students assist in logging, sample preparation, and analysis. The next phase of work in the district will depend on the evaluation of the collected data. However, the completion of a joint venture agreement with Santa Fe Gold Corporation hinges on the successful outcome of a multi-phase exploration plan leading to a bankable feasibility study.
