USA Rare Earth Reports Q2 2026 Results, Advances Integrated Rare Earth Supply Chain with Major Acquisitions and Funding

USA Rare Earth, Inc. (NASDAQ: USAR) has reported its second-quarter 2026 financial results, showcasing revenue of $5.8 million and a strong cash position of approximately $1.53 billion as of June 30. The company also finalized agreements that provide access to up to $1.6 billion in U.S. Department of Commerce CHIPS Act funding, a critical step in bolstering domestic rare earth processing capabilities.

During the quarter, USA Rare Earth announced a definitive agreement to acquire Serra Verde Group for approximately $2.8 billion, a move that would expand its access to rare earth resources in Brazil. The company also selected Blacksburg, South Carolina, as the site for a new rare earth metal and magnet manufacturing operation, furthering its goal of establishing a fully integrated supply chain within the United States.

The company commissioned its hydrometallurgical demonstration facility in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and produced its first commercial yttrium metal through its subsidiary Less Common Metals. Additionally, it received funding commitments to support its Round Top project in Texas, which is poised to become a key domestic source of rare earth elements.

Subsequent to the quarter-end, USA Rare Earth achieved several milestones, including the production of commercial-grade dysprosium and neodymium-praseodymium oxide samples from recycled magnet material. This development underscores the company's commitment to sustainable practices and circular economy principles. The company also finalized agreements to acquire an approximately 13.6% stake in France-based Carester SAS, strengthening its European footprint.

Furthermore, USA Rare Earth completed its acquisition of Texas Mineral Resources Corp., giving it 100% ownership and operating control of the Round Top project. This acquisition is pivotal for securing a domestic source of heavy rare earth elements, which are essential for defense, aerospace, and advanced technologies.

In a leadership transition, the company announced that CEO Barbara Humpton will retire on October 1, 2026, with Serra Verde CEO Thras Moraitis named as her successor. Moraitis, who has extensive experience in the rare earth industry, is expected to lead the company through its next phase of growth.

Looking ahead, USA Rare Earth expects to complete the Round Top Definitive Feasibility Study in the fourth quarter of 2026 and reach a 600-metric-ton-per-year run-rate magnet manufacturing capacity at its Stillwater, Oklahoma facility. This capacity is crucial for meeting the growing demand for permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and other clean energy applications.

The company's strategic initiatives are aligned with national efforts to reduce reliance on foreign rare earth supplies, particularly from China. By building a fully integrated value chain spanning mining, metal-making, alloy production, and magnet manufacturing, USA Rare Earth aims to provide a secure, Western-aligned source of these critical materials. The implications for national security and economic competitiveness are significant, as rare earth elements are essential for a wide range of high-tech and defense applications.

According to the company, its operations now span the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Brazil, positioning it as a global player in the rare earth sector. The acquisition of Serra Verde, once completed, will add the Pela Ema mine in Brazil to its portfolio, further diversifying its resource base. The company's progress in producing magnet-grade materials from recycled sources also highlights its innovative approach to sustainability.
